We were stranded and couldn’t seem to get any of the so called Roadside Assistance that these places offer. We were at our wits end until we called Dr. Phil (actual P. H.D) and his son Jason. They were in and out in less time than it took to actually find them online. He gave us an estimate and pretty much that i’s What it was! pricing was fair, work was Superb and the company was outstanding. It didn’t take long to get us up and back on the road.

Common Semi Truck Repair Services

Semi trucks are complex machines that require a variety of repair services to maintain their performance and safety. One of the most common truck repair services is engine diagnostics. Over time, engines can develop issues that affect their efficiency and power. Regular diagnostics help identify and fix problems early, ensuring your truck runs smoothly. In Frenchtown, MI, J&J Truck & Trailer Repair offers comprehensive engine diagnostics to keep your truck in top shape.

Another crucial service is brake repair. The braking system of a semi truck is essential for safe operation. Worn-out brakes can lead to accidents and costly damage. Regular inspections and timely repairs of brake components like pads, discs, and hydraulic systems are necessary to maintain optimal performance. At J&J Truck & Trailer Repair, we specialize in brake repair services, ensuring your truck can stop safely when needed.

Transmission services are also vital for semi truck maintenance. The transmission system is responsible for transferring power from the engine to the wheels. Issues like slipping gears or difficulty shifting can indicate transmission problems. Regular maintenance and timely repairs can prevent these issues from escalating. J&J Truck & Trailer Repair provides expert transmission services in Frenchtown, MI, helping you avoid costly breakdowns and ensuring your truck operates efficiently.

Tips for Preventing Major Truck Repairs

Preventing major truck repairs starts with regular inspections and maintenance. One essential tip is to check your brakes frequently. Brake components, including pads and discs, wear out over time and need to be replaced to ensure your truck stops safely. Regular brake inspections can help catch wear and tear early, preventing costly repairs and maintaining safety on the road.

Tire maintenance is another crucial aspect. Tires are subject to significant wear and tear, especially in heavy-duty trucks. Regularly checking tire pressure, tread depth, and overall condition can help you avoid blowouts and other tire-related issues. In Frenchtown, MI, J&J Truck & Trailer Repair recommends routine tire inspections and rotations to extend the life of your tires and ensure safe driving conditions.

Fluid levels play a critical role in the health of your semi truck. Engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, and transmission fluid all need to be at proper levels for your truck to operate smoothly. Regularly checking and topping off these fluids can prevent major engine and transmission problems. At J&J Truck & Trailer Repair, we provide comprehensive maintenance services, including fluid checks and changes, to keep your truck running efficiently and prevent unexpected breakdowns in Monroe County. Have a question?

The area was long occupied by Native Americans, including the historic Potawatomi. They had trading relations with French-Canadians in the area. The Frenchtown area reflected the ethnicity of its first European settlers, French Canadians who took land along the banks of the River Raisin as early as 1784. There had been other French colonial settlements closer to Detroit and on both sides of the Detroit River. Their descendants are known as Muskrat French. Around the same time, the Sandy Creek Settlement was founded near this by Joseph Porlier Benec. The United States acquired this area, which had been considered part of British Canadian territory after the Treaty of Paris (1783) settling the American Revolutionary War. It was specifically part of state claims (from 1783); the Northwest Territory (1787); Indiana Territory (1803); Michigan Territory (1805); and, finally, the State of Michigan (1837).

During the War of 1812, the area was the site of the Battle of Frenchtown, in which 397 Americans were killed by the coalition of British Army and Native Americans; this was the highest number of American fatalities of any battle during the war. The battlefield site today is within the River Raisin National Battlefield Park, which was designated in 2009 and falls within the present-day city limits of Monroe.

In 1817, that portion of Frenchtown was renamed and incorporated as the village of Monroe, named in honor of President James Monroe’s planned visit to the Michigan Territory later that year. In the same year, the village of Monroe was named as the county seat of the newly created Monroe County. Monroe was incorporated as a city in 1837. At that time, the remaining area known as Frenchtown was reorganized as a township, encompassing much of the northern portion of the county which was the area from the River Raisin to the Huron River at Wayne County’s southern border. Shortly afterwards, the northern portion of the township was broken off to form Ash Township. Later, by 1867, Berlin Charter Township was formed from another territory of the township. Additionally, the city of Monroe annexed pieces of the southern portion of Frenchtown several times. As a result, the boundary between the current Frenchtown Charter Township and the city limits of Monroe is jagged.
